Default Compile errors?

Im trying to make get the kernel module to compile for a 2.6.8 kernel. It wont.
I've tried a few versions of the installer from 66xx (cant remember and I deleted it) to the latest one. They all give a few errors in the log file (attached rather than copy and paste) about structs and things.... What's the deal with that?

For people not wanting to get the attachment, the errors seem to revolve arround "nvidia.mod.c".

I tried doing the agpgart thing, but it seems to not fix this one.

Once I submit this, Im going to start on compiling a 2.6.11 kernel to see if that helps.

Does your kernel have support for loadable kernel modules, i.e. did you configure it with CONFIG_MODULES=y?

The kernels I have been trying to build for are Debian compiled kernels, so yes they do support modules.

I'm just about to fix up my mistakes compiling the kernel I said I would yesterday (left out support for something... I think it was the FS I use for /), and then try again with that.

Failing that, I'll try an old NVidia driver I downloaded earlier, and then, failing that, I'll deal with not having 3D until I get my new big SATA drive and start all over again from scratch and see what happens.

OK, tried with a home made kernel the other day. Compiled fine.
I have no idea why it wouldnt go with the others. I was trying at one point to compile it for a 2.6 kernel I'd compiled myself too, so I dont know why it worked for this one and not the other.

Anyway, it's working now. So nice to have 3D back again.
