Hello all,
I've replaced my Albartron FX5900/256 with a Leadtek FX6600GT (The 5900 was moved to another machine) and I'm getting major drop in glgears performance: From around 8300 to around 6300. Do these numbers look OK to you? Machine configuration: Asus A7M266D. 2 x Athlon MP 2400. 1GB RAM. SCSI RAID. 431w P/S. OS configuration: Distro: Fedora Core 3, i386. nVidia Drivers: 7167. glxgears' performance depends on CPU a lot.... |

... Yeah, but it's the same machine. (CPU/Memory/etc)
I'm wondering if anyone else, with a FX6600GT is getting the same performance... Cheers, Gilboa

Same here.
Default save. rewt, Seems that we are getting the same performance. (Duals tend to be slower, and I have slower CPUs) Do you O/C your card? (And, how do you O/C your card?) Cheers, Gilboa

I think there's an issue with twinview. Running with a two monitor setup, I get 3000fps with an FX4400, but get 13000fps if I switch to single headed or cloned. Under windows I notice the same performance drop (completely unworkable with the nvidia demos (dawn, pirate ship, etc.) unless I toggle single-headed performance mode). I get something like 2fps in dual-headed-performance mode, and somewhere closer to 60fps in single-headed mode.
Interestingly, SPECViewperf results come out basically the same whether it's in full twin headed mode or single headed under linux, so it clearly doesn't affect everything to the same extent. |
