Default FX 1400 and RHEL 4

We're having troubles getting the FX 1400 card working on RedHat Enterprise 4 WS. When the X-server starts, often the image is too wide for the screen. Also, the system crashes occationally. The problems remain after upgrading to the (beta) kernel 2.6.9-6.37. (The vesa driver for that kernel works perfectly.) Using a vanilla kernel, we don't get any crashes, but the image is still too wide most of the times. Running the command
/usr/bin/nvidia-settings -a 0/FlatpanelScaling[DFP-0]=4
fixes the display.

However, we have to run on a kernel supplied by RedHat. When will nVidia release a driver for QuadroFX 1400 that works on RHEL4 WS?
