I am also expereincing the same problem before. My Motherboard is an MSI KT4AV (Via KT-400A chipset) and an Inno 3D GeForece 6600 AGP (non-GT, bought it last week). I had stability problems with 2.6.11.7 kernel + nVidia 7174 drivers. Stability problems went away when I downgraded to 7167 and to 2.6.10 kernel (7167 module does not compile on 2.6.11).
And just in case you might want to ask, I had no problems in Win2k on the same machine (using the latest nVidia drivers, forgot which revision as I don't boot Win2k that often. My brother does, however, and he upgraded the drivers after we installed the new card). |
