Default nvSound and ut2004 - high squeal

I've installed a 2.6.11.7 Kernel, with NFORCE 1.0.301 on an nForce3 mb (Biostar iDeq 210P)

xmms runs wonderfully --CDs, MP3s, all sound terrific.

But in UT2004 I hear all the sounds and all the music, but over the whole sound of the game there is this sqeal-- like an in-game steam effect, maybe, but it's very loud: particularly loud in arenas that have large, open spaces, so it must have something to do with the doppler or distance effect.

I did not have this issue running a 2.4.29 kernel with the intel8x0_sound module.

Is there a setting for UT that must be adjusted, or is there something that I can should change at the driver level?

Thanks,
~Merovian

Default Re: nvSound and ut2004 - high squeal

you could try using your own compiled openal lib
