Default QuadroFX500 - openGL overlay issue

i am using RH8.0 and from the install.log, there is an entry of XFree86-4.2.0-7.2. After modifying the XF86Config file, I can see the splash screen with the nVidia logo. In the XF86Config file I'd entry thus:-

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "nvidia"
Option "Overlay" "boolean"
End Section

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Modes "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600"
SubSection "Display"
Depth 16
Modes "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "800x600" "640x480"

now the question is :
q1 : how come the resolution is always 800x600 only and not able to select or change in the Display property dialog.
q2: When run a test with the QT Example, it reported that the overlay is not supported.

so what has been incorrect in the XF86Config file or what need to be done to achieve those.
