Default kdm crashes while exiting session

Using SuSE 9.3 with NVIDIA 71.67

While ending a session kdm sometimes does not return and I get back to
console login.

This does happen about 10% of the time on different computers in our
network. After logout I usually see the NVIDIA splash screen but not if the
error occurs.

In /var/log/messages there is

Apr 28 09:07:41 autoyast kdm[6447]: Unknown session exit code 0 (sig 6) from
manager process

I'm using SuSE 9.3 with the NVIDIA driver installed by YAST online update (71.67).
I did not have this kind of problem with SuSE 9.2

Is it possible the Xserver crashes with the nvidia module ?

If your tip is to install the latest NVIDIA driver :

How can I do a network install on 30+ computers without manually compiling
it on each machine as described in the install readme ?

Thanks

Henrik Schmidt
