Reading the NV5 reviews suggests that Arctic Cooling NV4 fansinks on my 5800s will make them nearly silent. The advertized 0.9 sone is way better than the 56dB dustbuster... However, the picture on the website shows the rear-of-card RAMsink is very thick compared to the other NV series coolers (probably to compensate for the DDR-II on the 5800).
![]() This makes me wonder whether the NV4 will fit in a SFF that has only 24mm between the agp slot centerline and the HD cage. Anyone with the NV4 care to measure the rear-of-card aluminum RAMsink for me?

Thanks a bunch for the measurement. Guess I'll have to water cool the SFF & 5800 after all.

I decided to test the NV4 on one of my 5800 Ultras. WTF?
![]() Arctic cooling claims that the NV4 fits the 5800 and 5800 Ultra, but the NV4 clearly was designed ONLY for the 5900, with no regard for the 5800. The screws on the NV4 don't line up with any of the holes through the 5800 PCB, and the NV4's raised areas for contact with the RAMs aren't aligned with any of the BGA memories on a 5800 video card! It's not like I have custom 5800 Ultras. Every 5800 and 5800 Ultra in the world uses the same PCB, because NVIDIA didn't trust any OEM with the 12-layer reference design. It appears that Arctic Cooling never saw a 5800 before they claimed the NV4 cooler works on one. This is so ****ing lame. This is so ****ing lame. This is so ****ing ![]()

I was going to buy one of those a while ago- but after looking at the picture on the website, i concluded that it wouldn't fit a 5800U. Too bad, really because I would have bought one...How Arctic Cooling can claim the nV4 will fit a 5800 is beyond me...
