Default 32 mb AGP aperture

All drivers I've tested only give me a max of 32 mb AGP aperture, which is not even remotely enough for more recent games (in scenes where a lot of memory is needed the speed goes down below 10 fps)

The AGPGart drivers give me the right amount of agp aperture, and thus no slowdown, but seem to crash a lot.

Asus 6800GT AGP on
Asus A7V266 - Via KT266 chipset
Xorg 6.8.2
Gentoo Kernel 2.6.11 currently

Solutions?

You use drivers to set aperture? I thought it was a bios setting.

No I don't. Its a bios setting. But the stupid driver doesn't recognize the aperture and just sets it to 32mb. despite the bios setting saying 128 mb or 256

What command is used to display the AGP aperature?

For me it used to show up with dmesg, but some time ago, that went away. Not sure how to find this information.

Thanks,
Ken
