I installed the driver NFORCE
(NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0301-pkg1.run) on K7N420 for Debian 2.4. Code:
Linux 2.4.27-2-386 #1 Thu Jan 20 10:55:08 JST 2005 i686 GNU/Linux Code:
# modprobe nvnet
Warning: loading /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386/kernel/drivers/net/nvnet.o will taint the kernel: non-GPL license - NVIDIA
See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules
/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386/kernel/drivers/net/nvnet.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386/kernel/drivers/net/nvnet.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386/kernel/drivers/net/nvnet.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-386/kernel/drivers/net/nvnet.o: insmod nvnet failed
Apparently only forcedeth loads. Should i remove forcedeth? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks ![]() Config MB : MSI K7N420Pro CPU : AMD@1800 + 1 GB RAM |

Had to move to kernel 2.6 and desactivate ACPI in Grub.
Now the nvnet module works :-) Bye. |
