Its a little easier playing Cg Gun Metal Demo if you have a joystick. The robot and plane is pretty cool.

food for thought.
I think Cg is free and open source and nvidia is trying its best so developers starts using it. If Cg takes off ATI should consider to support it... well in fact must support it i dont think it will be so complicated to do it...since Cg doesnt depend on specific hardware.

It sounds a bit sarcastic. What do you have against Giants ? It had quite original idea along with gameplay and the graphics were (and sill are) fantastic (try to name some game with similar gameplay) !

On the other hand, the Incoming controls were unplayable with keyboard and the mouse lagged also (only joystick was usable with Incoming). But does Gun Metal really look THAT much different from Incoming considering that Incoming ran on 3DFX some 5 (or maybe more) years ago ? And this runs on GF4, is cg enableda and stuff. Yes, it looks cool but not that much different from Rage`s engine 5 years ago.

Hm, i`d better install Incoming today (after soo many years) to see how it looks today.

um, from the gun metal readme file:

DirectX

Gun Metal requires DirectX version 8.1 or later. When the Gun Metal installation completes, you will be given the option to install DirectX 8.1. If you decline to install DirectX 8.1 at this point, but find later that you need it, please reinstall Gun Metal.
