Default Optimizing my athlonxp for mandrake--help!

Newbie question:
How do I compile my kernel to optimize my linuxbox for my AthlonXP CPU?

My specs:

Asus A7V8X
AthlonXP 2600+
768 MB DDR333 RAM
1x80 GB & 1x120 GB Western Digital HD
VisionTek Xtasy Ti4600
Mandrake 9.0
KDS VS 190

Well you have to choose the Athlon arch when your in xconfig. Thats about it.
