Default FFVII TechDemo on PS3 Rushed?!?!

New info from Square on the FF Series on the PS3. There is a FF game being developed by the main director of FFX-2 but no word on if it actually FFXIII (next in the series).

What was interesting is that the FFVII TechDemo showed off on the PS3 was only created in 1.5 Months. Even better is that they claim that the TechDemo didn't even take advantage of the PS3s power and "could" looked even better.

Im stoked even more now. That was an impressive demo and claiming that it was only done in 1.5 Months is amazing. I guess the PS3 must be easy to develope for if they were able to achieve that level in such a short time and claim it could look better.

I sure hope so. As happy as I was to see something ff7 related, the graphics didn't impress me anymore than current generation video card tech demos.

I thought it was one of the best looking TechDemos available, The entire video was rendered in real-time, no other TechDemo showed the complexity and detail it did.

Considering the character models were from the upcomming FF7 movie and the rest of the assets were probably on some computer that they used to render the original FF7 intro, it's no wonder they could create that tech demo so fast. Just dust off the old assets, throw on some more detailed textures and you're all set.

Imo that FF7 demo was the least impressive of all ...

i thought the ff7 was impressive, killzone + motor storm being most impressive, and devil may cry being the least impressive of the showings.

FF7 tech demo was the only impressive thing from the PS3 for me. It was probably the only game that wasn't a complete FMV.

Um many of the shown games were said to be done in real-time by the developers, not sony.

Heavenly Sword
I-8
Warhawk
Vision Gran Turismo
Fifth Phantom Saga
UT2007
The Getaway
Possession
Rockstar Old West Project

Those games/demos listed were all done in real-time according to the developer, will it end up looking that good at release? Who knows but the current showing was all done in real-time. Killzone 2 was also said to be real-time but I didn't listed because its up to debate since no one believes sony...

BTW Rumor has it that the dev units that the demos were running on where powered by the G70, not 6800U SLi.

So who actually knows the real capabilities of the PS3.
