Ok so my brothers fiance just got a Gamecube. She wants to play games like the classic super mario bro's that was on SNES. The good ole platform hopping days ya know? Anybody know of any games for GC that are classic super mario style? How is mario sunsine?, any good? and what about that paper mario game, is that anything like classic mario? Doesnt have to be a mario game just the general platform hopping with worlds and such. Thnx

Just get like... Sonic Collection... those are great.

Paper Mario isn't really much like classic mario and mario sunshine is decent... but not the same either.

Sorry I have such crappy descriptions :\.

Basically pick up Sonic Collection and LoZ: Wind Waker (has quite a bit of platforming... just not a sidescroller

).

How does The Wind Waker have a lot of platforming? You can't even jump in it! Anyway, to answer your question aaahhh, there aren't really any 2d platformers but Mario Sunshine is a good 3D one. Metroid Prime is one you should not miss, as well.

There isn't a jump button... but you DO jump in the game.

Hmm ok thanks guys, i picked up Mario Sunshine for her today, it seems more her style so i hope she likes it! Thanks for the suggestions.

If she wanted classic Mario style games, she would have been better off buying a GBA or DS because you can actually get those games for those systems. Or, if that doesn't work, pick up a GameBoy Player for the Cube and she can go nuts from there.

Absolutely flipping great idea! I never new about the gameboy player but i just googled and it seen what it was, thanks Sat that will work perfectly!

*edit* do you know how the graphics and resolution translate to a screen that big? will it look the same as a GB just bigger or will anything be stretched and skewed?*edit #2* I googled a bit more and found out what i needed to find out, thanks again!
