It's not like you couldnt get auto access after a certain level. Access Quests for outdoor zones is stupid.

I have always hated access quests.
In EQ one of the most magical feelings I ever felt was the first time I ran my crazy lowbie rear from Freeport to Qeynos. Exploring should be risky and still possible without a bunch of artifical BS time barrier requirements every few feet. The first time I ran from Neriak to N ro and Oasis to xp it felt like "far" and forever. Funny how little I knew then and that would vastly change.
