Using the options mixer030 suggested worked for me! I think I now know why the problem occurred with the cards it did: Both of the cards that failed had three video outputs (the MX440 had an RCA TV-Out, an S-Video TV-Out, and a VGA port, the Asus FX5200 had a DVI, an S-Video, and a VGA). The card that consistently worked only had two (S-Video and TV-Out). The two XF86Config settings seem to fix the problem. I did not have to change the vga= option from SuSE's default. Thanks, mixer030!

I have the same problem as The_Mercenary. I think this is related to using TV out. when i disable this in Xorg.conf, then i don't get this problem. all i want to do i clone to the TV, and not mess anything up! i use SuSE 9.3, nvidia 6200 with a gigabyte 7VAXP Ultra Sorry was late at night, and i was getting confused! Got it sorted with the help of this thread! Cheers all, DPH Last edited by dph; 08-15-05 at 01:12 PM. |
