YanC42 is a complete new release of YanC, called YanC42. It's a rewrite of the program logic in Java and SWT.
YanC42 is a small tool, which you can use to change the nVidia-specific settings in the X Configuration file (almost) as easily as with the Windoze-drivers. You can edit the settings for the AGP-Support, the Cursor Shadow, the nVidia-Logo, for Digital Vibrance Control and TwinView. OK, there's nvidia-settings and this is definitely nicer than YanC, but e.g. it doesn't support TwinView. The test release 0.0.9 now supports the same X config options as the old YanC versions, all you need to test it is a working GTK2 and JRE (Java Runtime) installation. The nVidia driver should also be installed correctly. If you have some time and you are interested in the program, download it at http://yanc.ygriega.de/ and report any bugs to me.

Well I downloaded yanc and started it as root, but I end up with an empty screen not showing any options. The only thing I can do is clicking on the info dialog and quit yanc...

OK, please see the console output and post the X configuration file that YanC42 is using. It seems that the program doesn't detect your nVidia Device section properly.

I guess I found the bug.
Try to replace the YanC.jar with this one: http://yanc.sourceforge.net/YanC.jar

Thanks again for the reply, that error is embarrassing. Go for the next one...
