Default Modelines for Apple 30" LCD?

Does anyone have working modelines for the other (lower) display resolutions of the Apple 30" LCD monitor?

Specifically,
2048x1280 (I really want this one)
1920x1200
1280x800
1024x640

I'm using a nVidia Quadro 4 with the nVidia drivers.

These seem to be working modelines for the 2560x1600 max resolution:
(I can verify that the top one works at 60Hz.)

Thanks!

You can't just calculate modelines using GTF or other tools for it. The problem is the bandwith needed for pixelclocks used for high resolutions. In case of DVI the DVI port is limited to a bandwith of about 150MHz. The modelines you calculated use much higher pixelclocks which don't work. (7800 / Quadro DDL cards ship with a dual DVI interface instead of a single one and those can handle upto 300MHz) To get your monitor working you need a modeline with reduced blanking. Various people posted such modelines for this screen, search the forum for it.

John,
The most reliable means of capturing modelines for a display device is to start X with this command:
startx -- -logverbose 5

and then inspect your X log for the EDID section. Generally speaking, only the modelines in that EDID will work properly (if at all). I just so happen to have done this a few days ago when working on a separate issue. The Apple 30" display only natively supports two modelines, 2560x1600 and 1280x800. Here's the modeline for 1280x800:
Modeline "1280x800" 71 1280 1328 1360 1440 800 803 809 823

Thanks,
Lonni

Thanks.

The apple.com/displays/specs.html page says that the 30" supports

2560x1600, 2048x1280, 1920x1200, 1280x800, and 1024x640

Modeline "1920x1200" 204.39 1920 2056 2264 2608 1200 1201 1204 1212

I also set my monitor section to:

Section "Monitor"
Option "CheckDesktopGeometry"
DisplaySize 640 400 #(This is in mm)
# DisplaySize 495 311 #(Sony PremierPro 24" flatpanel)
HorizSync 31-81
Identifier "Monitor[0]"
ModelName "Apple DISPLAY Cinema"
VendorName "Apple"
VertRefresh 50-65
UseModes "Modes [0]"

Gamma 1.70 1.70 1.70
EndSection

We had to set the gamma high because we were porting over from SGI InfiniteReality Graphics to linux and Nvidia, that was the best setting.

I have used this XFree86 Config on FX-3400s, FX-4400s, FX-3000, FX-4000
and FX-6800GT driving both the Apply 30' display at 1920x1200 and a Sony PremierPro 24" Flat Panel. Only issue I had were with my FX-3000 and FX-4000 I did not get a useable display on the 30" Apple till the X server started.
