Good God, if you're talking about this benchmark, no wonder Linux fell on it's face. Driver version 6111? No wonder. And where's the X11.conf/xorg.conf posted? What about dmesg output? Blah & Poo.

While SSE isnt' supported, I wouldn't say this would necessarily be a cause for performance differences unless the CPU was the bottleneck. There's a lot more to comparing Win32 to Linux than installation of the CD. Hardware used such as a hardware mixing capable soundcard and emu10k1 optimized alsa/oss play a large role in FPS.

Infact 'The CPU is the bottle neck' was the working title of Doom 3, however it was changed at the last moment by their marketing department.

First of all, iD states that Doom3 in linux is slower than windows.
You offer no proof other than 'nuh-uh'.
As I have doom3 installed on both my windows and linux hdd, i can attest that Windows preformance is higher. Dont try to pull the 'older driver' bull**** here, as the 6111 drivers

Share your Linux configuration, including the driver release, kernel version, distribution, dmesg output, xorg.conf, additional module parameters, current sound card, loaded modules, driver version, and if SBA and FastWrites are enabled. Until then, you're not comparing fairly if your current configuration/setup/hardware favors Win32.

If you're doing a test with your SLI card, you probably already know that Linux doesn't support SLI with the 1.7xxx drivers and Linux SLI support will be added in the 1.8xxx drivers.

That's true, but as far as my machine the difference was only about 2-3fps. Not a big deal when the meter is pegged at 60fps most of the time..

Well, you don't really have to subscribe. You can get the source code and compile your own copy. It's legal too.
