I might pick up an Extrememusic at Best Buy...I'm not convinced XRAM is useful for anything yet and I have no need for a front panel.

Well, I've read some X-Fi reviews and I'm pretty sure I'm going to hold off for a while. Apparently the sound quality is exactly the same as the Audigy's (unless you use the 24-bit Crystalizer). Maybe I'll get one in a year or so but for now my Audigy 2 ZS is just fine. Too bad the software is bloated and horrible though.

The 3D sound if you use 2 speakers or headphones is much better though. In BF2, the X-Fi mode is also much better than the regular EAX mode. In doom 3, I'm not as sure. It's hard to tell b/c the new mode added in 1.3 has so much reverb (I think is the word) it's kind of hard to tell.
