Yep, I was the same way. No Q3 mods could match up to the best of Q2's in my opinion. Nor the maps.

As for the poll question, I'm 50/50 and highly anticipating each. I can't friggin wait for this game to come out. I only hope it's more GPU oriented than Doom 3 or I might be having some performance problems (Doom 3 runs like 15-20 fps for me in outdoor areas w/ several enemies).

Heh, I agree, but it seems as though 4xAA really kills performance in this game. That doesn't surprise me given the very large amount of polygon edges (when outdoors) compared to other games but it still is disheartening when considering Quake 4's possible performance. Guess we'll see.

You mean RoE, right? Doom 3 runs very well, at least for me. In Doom 3 I use 1600x1200 4xAA/8xAF and have even played several of the maps at 2048x1536 with 4xAA/8xAF and had good framerates. In RoE, I use 2xAA because, for whatever reason, some of the area cause pretty low framerates (outside, the plasma boss, etc.).

Looking fwd to both here. Q3 MP was rushed to compete with UT and really only got good when the mod community starting putting out releases. Q2 SP & MP pwnd so I'm hoping Q4 brings that back nicely wrapped in D3 engine visuals.

Single player and Mp are important..
Single player is a must have for the mod community to have much more pre-created content where to start with their single player AND multiplayer mods. You will not need to reivent the wheel if already the game ships more or less with the content you need for your mods. Multiplayer in the other hand helps a lot in the day/by day replay value of the game , if where the biggest action happen. For me all games should at least support Both Sp/MP because they will help greatly in the replaybility of the game ,even if you only play online or if you only care about its SP. And Multiplayer Offline with bots is BIG Plus,a mix between single player and MP ,something that should exist in every major FPS game outhere today.
