Default IQ settings not making any difference??

well

I'm enjoying Q4 and have ramped everything as high as it will go except Ultra quality....

I am forcing AA and AF in the drivers (81.85) but so far I've got it running happily at 8xAA/16AF???? BUT my FPS looks the same??....howver i am struggling to tell the difference in image quality.

I am kind of suspicious that actually nothing is happening....

Anyone any comments???

If its like Doom 3 high quality turns on AF. So you should not see much difference in AF. AA there should be a difference. The higher rez you run the harder it is to see the effects of AA. I will most likely be beat down here for saying this but I do not think AA was designed for really high rez'es. It was really for back when people ran at 800x600 and such. The higher the rez the less AA helps IMO. (I am talking about actual moving frames. I do not need a bunch of still screen shots to show me the difference)

High quailty only enables 4xAf in Q4 - not the 8xAF that it did in D3 - just a word of warning - you might want to force 8xAF manually.

Good to know. I assumed it was the same as D3.
