Default nvnet and gigabit

I am running Debian AMD64 2.6.8-11 on a Asus K8N-E Deluxe based PC. The problem is that I can't get gigabit networking to work. I've tried the forcedeth that came with the kernel and now nvnet(should be the latest ver). Forcedeth was strange to say the least, but I think nvnet should work, but it doesn't. From ethtool and mii-tool I get :

:~# mii-tool eth3
eth3: negotiated 100baseTx-FD flow-control, link ok
:~# ethtool eth3
Settings for eth3:
Supported ports: [ TP ]
Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full
100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full
Supports auto-negotiation: Yes
Advertised link modes: Not reported
Advertised auto-negotiation: No
Speed: 1000Mb/s
Duplex: Full
Port: Twisted Pair
PHYAD: 1
Transceiver: internal
Auto-negotiation: on
Link detected: yes

As you can see, the hardware sees the link as gigabit, but gigabit isn't listed under supported link modes and thus no speed gain. I've tried to give some parameters to the module, but none of the locations(listed in nvidia's readme) for the conf file, seem to do the trick, nothing changes when I check from /proc/net/nvnet/. As far as getting a newer forcedeth, hmmh, I really have no idea what I am supposed to do(the patch files) and haven't managed to google out an answer either.
