I really like Blizzard, but this kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

And I still think that $50 for the game should = 3 free months of play.

You really thought they were gonna let you just upgrade your account and start paying monthly without buying the retail game? Dude no developer/publisher has ever done that and I doubt we will ever see that happen anytime soon.

That said, I went out and bought the game after playing the trial for 2 days, its that good imo. Well worth the price of admission for me at least.

Don't they do that with SWG now?

Yes SWG has a trial available but you still have to buy the game to get a CD key and make a full account.
