Default NFS:MW install problem

I have the 6800GT from BFG and using the new 81.94s. When I go to install the demo of NFS:MW I get an error saying I need DirectX 9.0C to install this. The problem is...I already have 9.0C on my computer. I can't continue the install because it quits there. Any ideas on what to do?

hi,

same problem here with the demo.

my solution:

don`t start the install routine. unzip the " 0compressed.zip " file and start the game with the " speedDemo.exe "

Sounds like some odd registry glitch.
Try reinstalling Direct X ?

Hit yes and ignore it, it'll work fine.

Here is the correct thing to do. RIGHT CLICK THE AUTORUN AND GO TO THE COMPATIBILTY MENU, THEN SELECT WINDOWS 2000 COMPATIBILITY SETTING AND IT WILL INSTALL PROPERLY!

Compat 2000 mode didn`t work for me with the demo. Unzipping the compressed file did tho. Dumbazzes for their app not being able to correctly tell if we got dx 9. Double dumbasses to not let the install go on even if it can`t tell.
