When I upgraded from 6111(2.6.10) to 8174(2.6.14) lost my working dual head setup.
I first noticed that the bottom of the screen while linux is starting up is placed about 4/5 from the top of the screen. Which I find strange because grub covers the whole screen. When X is started this box becomes white and the rest of the screen is black. There is no signal. But when I switch to the concole and back again. I get grey horizontal running stripes on my tv, but you can see that a picture is displayed (e.g. DISPLAY=:0.1 mplayer some.avi). I've tried agpart to nvagp but no results. I tried different settings (EDID, refreshrates, renderaccel etc) for my tv but the image always ends up corrupted. Last edited by nvneus; 12-07-05 at 08:02 AM. Reason: new information |

My tv encoder is identified as:
--) NVIDIA(1): Detected TV Encoder: Brooktree 873 while I on my MSI G4Ti 4200-VTD8X there is a Philips SAA7114H. Maybe this is causing the corruption |

Sounds very similar to my problem. I also have the very same gfx card and things were working perfectly until i upgraded to 8174 from 7676.
I really hope there is a solution, as i use the tvout on daily basis. |
