Default nv_sata : wrong drive order

I'm using 3 SATA drives(1 Western Digital (boot) and 2 Seagates)
Bios Order
WD = 1
S1 = 2
S2 = 3

It works perfectly under windows XP.

Under 2.6 kernels (nv_sata module) , disks order differs from bios order.

WD = 2 (sdb)
S1 = 1 (sda)
S2 = 3 (sdc)

My boot disk is sdb instead of sda. I have to disconnect one of
the Seagate drives in order to have my Wester Digital with the
right name(sda).

Does anybody encounter the same problem ?

You could re-map the devices from Grub. A lot of us do that to trick windows into thinking that it is installed on the primary ide channel. It would be something like this:

map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)

In that way, you switched the ide channels.

Or maybe, you just did this in order for windows to boot, but inadvertently remapped your hard disks.
Use the source, Tux.
