I just got an FX 5200 today and have been trying to get TV-output working all night. I finally got it to "work," but it's not doing quite what I want it to.
Ideally, I would like a "theater mode" like my laptop has under Windows. If I play a movie, the movie plays fullscreen on my tv, while i can put the movie window in the background of whatever I'm doing on my laptop. It seems this isn't possible under Linux, at least not yet. If there IS a way to accomplish this please let me know. Alternatively, I would at least like to have full screen video on my tv without my monitor being sized at 800x600 or lower. My xorg.conf file is attached. Basically the only way I could get video to display on the TV is if it was at 800x600 or lower. In order to keep my monitor at 1024 or above (I like 1280 the most), I had to get the TV's screen to "scroll" with the mouse using "tv: 800x600 @1280x960" and the like. Is there a way to get twinview to allow me to have a 1280x960 monitor resolution, but keep my tv at a scaled 800x600? Or make the TV work as a second monitor with "rightof" while not having the same resolution as the monitor? I just want to be able to see everything on my desktop's monitor on the TV withotu having to change my resolution to something so small. |

Line 111 should be Option "TwinViewOrientation" "RightOf" instead of Option "TwinViewOrientation" "clone"
That might help something. I too have been trying to get my TV and LCD to work that way. -- Oxygen |
