Hi,
I tried to compile/install the nvnet driver on my Debian system running a 2.6.12 kernel. The driver version, downloaded from NVIDIA is 1.0-0310. Unfortunately I was not successful, the compilation does not succeed. So my urgent question is can anyone please give me some hint how to compile this under Debian. Alternatively if somebody would hav an already compiled loadable module for the 2.6.12 kernel ..... HOPE br, gandalf |

Done. Unfortunately some of the compiler comments are in German. But from the position it shoud be clear what is meant. If not copy the string back to me and I will translate.
Thanks, gandalf |

Where did you get the 2.6.12-ct-1 kernel that you're using? If you use a default Debian kernel, are you able to install the nvnet module?
Thanks, Lonni |

That is a 2.6.12 kernel that was modified/patched by the german computer magazin c't in order to improve the use of the box as Video Disk Recorder, which is a project of them. But mainly it is a fully standard 2.6.12 kernel. Unfortunately I miss the correct entry in the /etc/apt/sources.list in order to locate the nvnet package. Do you know which repository in which branch (stable/testing/unstable/...) is providing this?
Cheers, gandalf |

Sorry, I don't use Debian very often, I don't know where the NFORCE driver would be.
Based on your log, there's something wrong with the state of your kernel source. That's about all that I can determine based on the kernel that you're using, whcih I'm afraid I know nothing about. I'd still suggest verifying that you can install the nforce driver with an official Debian kernel. Thanks, Lonni |
