Default Skype problems with nForce 2 driver

Driver: NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0310-pkg1

There is no sound input and output. Skype crashes when attempting to play a sound.

Kernel: 2.6.8-2 k7
using ALSA

Are there any additional settings about configuring the NVidia driver on a debian machine to work corectly with alsa?
