Angry Re: GeForce Go 6600 freezes system when running OpenGL apps

No it's not a overheating problem. I already knew that a while back.
It's a software issue (kernel, driver, or both).

And guess what, my system freezed again this morning, after running DOOM3 for 5 minutes.

I don't know what else to try. BAH!

Default Re: GeForce Go 6600 freezes system when running OpenGL apps

My system freezes after running opengl applications like stellarium. I am running FC4 and have this problem since I upgraded to the 6600GT agp card.
My system shows the symptoms of the freeze before it actually does like weird lines across objects shown in the screen. When I notice this behavior, I kill the program before it halts the computer. After then, I noticed that programs which uses XVideo (like xine, mplayer, and realplayer) shows the images and videos distorted. The picture and video would pull toward one corner of the screen as you move the program window across the screen. I will make a snapshot and show upload it to this forum hoping it will help pin the problem down.

Regards;

Ok here are the two Desktop images after running the celestia opengl application. after running it for less than a minute, I saw strange lines across the screen and I quited the program fast before the system freeze. The I ran xine which uses xvideo as the video driver. When xine in the top letft corner, the picture inside xine window is fine. As I move the xine window away from the top left corner, the inside image starts to pull toward the left side of the screen as you can see from the two images below:
