Texture Shimmering with AF enabled

I am experiencing texture shimmering when Anisotropic Filtering is enable (for a description of the issue see this link: http://www.3dcenter.org/artikel/g70_...n/index2_e.php)

In windows I can fix this by setting the quality mode to 'high quality' with the nvidia settings panel.

However, in Linux this option does not seem to exist anywhere.

I understand that the shimmering is caused by Anisotropic filtering optimizations (which are turned off with the high quality mode in Windows).

So how can I fix this under Linux?

I am using the 7667 driver and GF 7800GTX card.

8178 has it! (in nvidia-settings)

There's an "Image Settings" section which has a slider which ranges from "High Quality" to "High Performance" in nvidia-settings in the 'OpenGL Settings' section. Have you tried that yet?

Well, i'm using the older v7 driver so it looks like I'll need to upgrade it (on about 20 PC's!).

I just hope the newer driver is as stable as the current one though....
