Default opengl apps under compiz+xgl+87.56??

i found this in the new driver's change log:

Quote:
Added support for running OpenGL applications while the Composite X extension is enabled; see "The X Composite Extension" appendix for details.
does this mean that i can run games under xgl and compiz or what does it mean??

It has nothing to do with Xgl or compiz. It means that when the Composite extension is enabled, you can run OpenGL applications and have them interact correctly with the other windows on the desktop, including with translucency and shadows. In earlier drivers, OpenGL applications simply displayed on top of everything else, causing flickering and other problems.

Compiz is a program that uses the Composite extension. Other such programs are xcompmgr, kompmgr (part of KDE), and xfce4.
