Prior to 8756 I automatically had all sorts of video modes (including custom modelines I added in the Monitor section) if I didn't specify one in the Screen|Display section of xorg.conf (which is how it should work). But now with 8756 I only get 1280x1024. WTF? How do get the normal behavior back? (And please don't tell me to manually enter them all. That was automatic and should be automatic, period.)

I'm afraid I'm not clear on the problem you're describing. What modes did you have previously, and where were they?
Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log. Thanks, Lonni |

This is the same problem as in this more recent thread:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=867057 I hope this serious regression will be fixed in the next driver release. |

Can you point me to where you posted the requested bug report in the thread you referenced?
