Hi everybody. I tried running the "water" plugin for compiz, but it complains about missing GL_ARB_fragment_program extension.
In glxinfo it's not listed, but a friend with 6600GT has it. I'd like to know _why_ this happens and how to fix it (maybe it's a driver bug). I'm running a 2.6.15 gentoo kernel on amd64. Not that I need that extension (i can live without water effect, and also without XGL) but it's not nice to have a quite new card that doesn't support something... Any idea ? |

When you use XGL with compiz you use mesa's libGL for the texture from pixmap extension. Because of this you won't have that extension. When you don't use XGL and just try glxinfo you'll see that you have the extension.
