Photo editing software

Hope you can help

Im after some easy to use photo editing software for my parents.

Thayve got a scanner/printer and some old b&w photos they want to enhance as much as possible.....easily

Please keep an open mind. as i said its for my parents and their not exactly computer literate so i want it to be fairly simple to use but have as many features as possible.

One problem though, their using windows 98

Yup...This was the software I was gonna recommend. This software is just like photoshop, and it is really easy to use. Best of all, it's FREE!!!

Gimp's pretty cool, but I personally use Paint.NET.

Edit: Saw the part about them running Windows 98. Gimp's definitely the way to go then.

Is Gimp really gonna be all that friendly for parents? I wouldn't set it in front of my parents or in-laws -- the support calls would drive me nuts!

IrfanView has some decent filters and enhancements (red-eye reduction, sharpen/blur, color correction, sepia tones, etc.). And it's a heckuva lot easier to use (while still being free).
