Angry 8178 -> 8756 TV out upgrade issues

Hi everyone !

Well, many persons seemed to experience more or less the same problems... But it seems my combination is different.

To sum up : ubuntu breezy, geforce 6600 PCI-E. With the 8178 drivers, I use two separate screens (one to display movies on the TV in 800*600, the other with my LCD screen for the rest in 1280x1024). Is worked quite good except a couple of annoying issues (see below).

However, when upgrading to the latest nvidia drivers here's what happened :

- the 800*600 mode disappeared
- the TV screen flickers a lot whatever the mode, the settings. The frequency I set must be good otherwise nothing would be displayed. (this is unbearable)

See at the bottom of the message my xorg.conf

Now, here are the issues I have with th 8178 drivers (that may be fixed or not in the 8756) :

- very very frequently the vsync on either of the screens is not active and I get some very very bad tearing. (yes, I ticked everything in the nvidia settings app !) I have to switch the resolution to get it back working

- the overscan settings I set either in my xorg or in nvidia settings are frequently not restored

Now, here's my xorg.conf

THANKS for reading so far !!!!

Default Re: 8178 -> 8756 TV out upgrade issues

Hm, I wonder if the HorizSync 30-50 value is correct ? Could it trigger the unbearable flickering ? (only w/ the latest driver ?!)
