Unhappy FC5 and GeForce 256

How can I install a driver for Guillemot GeForce 256 on Fedora Core 5?

Driver 8178 will not load the kernel module "nvidia.ko" (wrong hardware).
Driver 7174 seems to have problems with the recent FC5 kernel (version 2.6.16-1.2080).

See the attached log for details.

THX!

An updated legacy driver which supports 2.6.16+ kernels will be released in a few weeks.

Thanks,

Have you proved the nVidia packages provided by de livna yum repo?
I'm not sure, but perhaps it works whit your card.
This is the link to download the livna.repo rpm for fedora core 5:

Good luck!!!

Post Re: FC5 and GeForce 256

I'm pretty shure, the livna driver is based on the recent NVIDIA driver, which doesn't work for my first generation GeForce.

I've been tried the following method, but it doesn't load the kernel module at RPM install time due to the described reasons:
