Geforce FX5200 RHEL 4 help
I recently updated to RHEL 4 running kernel 2.6.9-22
I am running graphics from the card on the mother board now. Because as soon as I put in the PCI Geforce card i find my self in a reboot loop as soon the kernel tries to launch.
I tried to install NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8756-pkg1.run which i believe is not compatiable with the kernel i am running.
I receive an errors stating :
-> No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel; would you like the installer to attempt to download a kernel interface for your kernel from the NVIDIA ftp site (ftp://download.nvidia.com)? (Answer: Yes)
-> No matching precompiled kernel interface was found on the NVIDIA ftp site;
this means that the installer will need to compile a kernel interface for
-> Performing CC test with CC="cc".
ERROR: Unable to find the kernel source tree for the currently running kernel.
Please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for your
kernel and that they are properly configured; on Red Hat Linux systems,
for example, be sure you have the 'kernel-source' RPM installed. If you
know the correct kernel source files are installed, you may specify the
kernel source path with the '--kernel-source-path' command line option.
I am not too familar with working in the kernel. Can someone help me out on how to proceed
