1.0-8762 first impressions

Hi!

Thanks to Nvidia Linux Team for new driver.

Mode selection issue for my DFP is fixed so I removed _75 from my modes: (brought back 1024x768_75 to 1024x768) and nvidia driver keeps itself correct value of 75Hz now.

There is new bug: nvidia driver displays too much video memory allocated for my geforce 6150. I have always set in bios 64MB for video.
In 8756 I had:
(--) NVIDIA(0): VideoRAM: 65536 kBytes
In 8762 I have now:
(--) NVIDIA(0): VideoRAM: 262144 kBytes
I did not change anything in bios settings, I still has 64MB of RAM selected for IGP.

Bug 222895 (which appear when XVMC_DEBUG=2 is set) looks still not fixed:

still show up. However this one:
NV-XVMC (ERROR): Failed to unmap MPEG engine registers
does not appear now. I will check this more later.

Thanks for fixing mode selection issue. Hope other issues won't be issue soon.

Thank you Lonni for lightspeed answer (in 8 minutes !!!). This is absolute record. Never got answer so fast.

Will AIGLX and GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap extension appear in 8xxx series driver ? Or you are just cooking it for 9xxx release?

X.org just officialy launched final xorg 7.1 with support for this extension.

GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap support will appear in 9xxx at the earliest.

Umm... Assuming that X.org's GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap specs are closed (as of 7.1?), shouldn't four/five months (normal nVidia release cycle) be enough to get it out of the door? I'm not looking for definite answer, an "it's scheduled for our next release" is good enough in my book.
Being a Fedora Core user, it'll be nice to get AiGLX running on FC6.

@vnywn: no, 1.0-8762 does not yet include support for version 1.0 of the Xorg video driver ABI.

How likely is it that the next version of 1.0-8XXX will support X.org 7.1? Thanks.

@s_bergmann: support will likely be added in the 1.0-9xxx series of NVIDIA Linux/UNIX graphics drivers.
