Default 7950 GX2 support?

I might have an option to pick up a pair of 7950GX2s at very little to no cost.

Does 1.0-8762 support the 7950GX2? Will 9***? I'm just talking about one dual card, two GPUs, one PCIe slot here. That should work, but will it work in 8762, or am I waiting for 9***?

Other sub-post! unrelated to above!!

I know that it's not supported. I know that. Are there any current checks/etc prohibiting quad SLI function? I'm not counting on it, but since I'll have two cards anyways, I'm sure I'll feel compelled to mess with it.

I have a PCP&C 1KW PSU, a very well-ventilated case, and a Supermicro H8DCE, so I have all the right hardware. I'm very technically knowledgable, so I have no problems being unsupported. I'm just looking for TOTALLY off the record thoughts from someone inside, who might know more reasons as to why big OEMs can sell quad SLI but NV pretends it doesn't exist for end users. I mean, obviously it must be *possible*, since Alienware/VoodooPC/Dell/etc sell quad rigs.

So.... Anyone @nvidia.com want to make a completely off-the-record statement?

No idea how I missed that. Thanks for the RTFM and the PYAITK, both questions answered in one link.
