Default NVIDIA driver (1.0-8762) parallel on individual kernels

Hi,

I'm new to this forum so I don't know if that was ever asked:

I'm running different kernels on my machine (2.6.9, 2.6.17.3) and I want to boot them alternateley. But if I use the NVIDIA setup skript on one running kernel, it wants to uninstall the previous version of the driver (that is installed on the other kernel). If I uninstall it, X-Windows will not run on the other kernel, because the module is absent. Rebooting and reinstall the module will remove the module again for one kernel.

What could I do to resolve this?

Thanks,
Carsten

Just RTFM (NVIDIA-....run --advanced-options) :

Use the -K (or --kernel-module-only) switch.

@grisu1976: what doesn't work, exactly? Please attach the /var/log/nvidia-installer.log file generated with the -K commandline option.
