TwinView, X crashes on startup
Ok, so we'll start with some background information. 7600GT using 8762 Driver (ubuntu, dapper). Both monitors are sceptre's (they both run fine at 1680x1050 separately using a basic xorg.conf).
When TwinView is enabled, on X startup the primary screen is half black and half white (split across the middle of the screen). The secondary screen yields nothing. From this point, I am unable to reach a terminal or restart X (have to edit xorg.conf through booting into knoppix).
As a temporary fix, I decided that I would set it up using two X servers. Using this approach, my left (primary) monitor works (at 1680x1050) and the right still yields nothing.
Attached are xorg logs for both the twinview startup (Xorg.log) and for the halfway working two X server configuration (Xorg_1.0.log). Also attached are the xorg.conf files being used in both setups. TwinView (xorg.fubar.txt) and two X servers (xorg.onescreen.txt). Sorry about the naming conventions and many commented out lines in the files.
I would prefer to use TwinView, once everything is working. Hopefully someone has some ideas. Thanks in advance.
