Hello,
Is it possible to download, compile, and use NVIDIA driver in KNOPPIX and any other Linux LiveCDs? The default video driver sucks. It would be nice to use NVIDIA's latest drivers for speed. If this is possible, is there any tricks? Thank you in advance. ![]()

I remember I managed to make it work once.
I had to download kernel source and patch it (or not?) to make it identical with Knoppix's running kernel. Then I compiled the driver and voila! |

It was a year ago. I think I downloaded vanilla kernel source, unpacked it and copied the .config file & make modules_prepare. Then I compiled the driver.
But I am not sure at all... it's a long time... |

Ive done it. I think it includes or used to include the kernel source so it was fine. Anyway I just downloaded the drivers from nvidia.com killed X installed the drivers edited the XFree conf file and started X up and all was well.
