Geforce4 420 Go "Black Bar"
I have a toshiba satellite 1415-s173 with a geforce4 420 go video card.
The nvidia drivers have always worked for me in the past, but I haven't run linux on this laptop in about a year.
I just installed Fedora Core 5, and used the Livna repository for the latest nvidia kernel module (8762).
In my file /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-glx I have the following:
options nvidia NVregSoftEDIDs=0 NVreg_Mobile=4
In the past, I would use:
option "IgnoreEDID" "1"
in my xorg.conf file, but I see this is deprecated. However, I have been unable to find a combination of options to remove the 1 inch thick "black bar" down the side of the screen.
Thanks in advance,
