Default 6600GT configured for dual head?

I have FC5 and I want to run a dual display but the moment I configure my other monitor x windows can't start. I don't know a lot about computers so any help would be great.

Please generate and post an nvidia-bug-report.log.

Thanks,

Hi thanks, I would generate it but I think I am supposed to do it after I startx.

I can't startx because I only get errors when I config dual head but at the moment I cannot configure dual head because when I run the command:
system-config-display
Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/system-config-display/xconf.py", line 311, in ?
    hardware_state = XF86HardwareState(xconfig)
File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/rhpxl/xhwstate.py", line 243, in __init__
    self.init_from_xconfig(xconfig)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/rhpxl/xhwstate.py", line 405, in init_from_xconfig
    for l in xconfig.modules.load:
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'load'
So I need an alternative way to configure it for dual head or else I need to fix the other command. Because if I don't config dual head and I run startx everything works fine.

system-config-display is a Redhat tool and will not allow you to configure X for use with the nvidia X driver. I'd suggest that you read the NVIDIA driver README.

Thanks,
Lonni

Okay I found the readme on the net and I got it working - thanks so much.

My one minor problem is that the primary display, the one with the desktop panels and stuff, it is the wrong monitor and I cannot figure out how to change it... I even physically changed the connectors but that didn't work either. I'm sure you guys know how to fix this no problem right?

I had the same problem yesterday. I have been running

Primary Display Secondary Display (both on DVI)
1920x1200 Sony 1600x1200 ViewSonic

Yesterday It suddenly switched on me when I rebooted.

I got in "nvidia-settings" and changed "sync on monitor" from ViewSonic to Sony and rebooted. Everything was back to where they belonged.

I don't know how it switched, but give it a try.
