Default Performance degredation when using multiple outputs?

Hello,

For a while now, I have been using a 6600GT with DVI out (1280x1024) and svideo out (1024x768). Recently the DVI got fried, and I exchanged the card for a 7600 GT OC. I got the card home only to find out it has no svideo

So now at this point, I would rather pick up a nicer TV with DVI or HDMI input and use the extra DVI output on this card. My curiousity however is how the card fairs when its driving such a large output.

If I go 1080p on one DVI and 1280x1024 on the other, will a bunch of video RAM get eaten up, leaving poor performance for Xgl running on the 1280x1024 display, or even for any other OpenGL apps for that matter? Or does it really not make any difference?
