Hi,
I am very new to linux. I finally got the latest nvidia driver installed, but when i ran sax2 it said error in line 619. So, I read you could edit xorg.conf without running sax2. I opened xorg.cong in kate with root access and changed the space that said Driver: "Change Me" to Driver: "nvidia" Now, it boots fine, but when logging into a user, the screen goes black, and it kicks me back to the login screen. Anybody know what to do? Thanks for all the help? |

What runlevel are you in? When you get to the login screen, is it graphical or text-based? If it's graphical, then it shouldn't be a problem w/drivers, as graphical login should use the same xorg.conf (I think? I'm a RL3 guy), hence, same drivers. So, might be a problem with user login scripts or something, if that's the case.
