Default tv out on ubuntu 6.06 using 6600gt PCI-E

i use a s-video cable to connect to my tv. the tv has a scart input so i use a scart connector to plug in my s-video cable. the cable works as it does so in windows.

i don't really care which tv out i have, twinview, clone, single tv-out....i just want tv-output. someone please help me. i'm new to linux and this is the only thing left that i REALLY need to make my ubuntu box complete.

thanks!

I had a 6600 pci-e working with the svideo out, straight out of the box with no changes, but I used Fedora. For me it worked without even having to change files like the xorg.conf file. What happens when you hook it up?
