Default How do I enable AGP 2X mode?

I have an Asus K7M motherboard, Athlon 650, and a GeForce4 MX440. The manual for this motherboard says it has a North Bridge System Chipset that complies with AGP 2.0 specifications for 1X and 2X AGP modes, so I guess that means that 4X wont' work.

But how do I turn on AGP 2X mode?

I don't seem to see any settings for it in the BIOS.

I'm using the new drivers:

And these seem to work ok with XFree86-4.3.0 on my Slackware 9 system except it seems to only run in 1X mode.

In Xf86Config I have:

Option "NvAgp" "1" # use NVAGP

# cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/status

Status: Enabled
Driver: NVIDIA
AGP Rate: 1x
Fast Writes: Disabled
SBA: Disabled

And in /var/log/XFree86.0.log I see:
(II) NVIDIA(0): AGP 1X successfully initialized

# cat /proc/driver/nvidia/agp/card
Fast Writes: Not Supported
SBA: Not Supported
AGP Rates: 4x 2x 1x
Registers: 0x1f000007:0x0f000101

From # cat /proc/pci

Any help getting AGP 2X enabled would sure be appreciated.

Search through the nVidia README for "Irongate". It outlines issues your chipset has with any AGP rate higher than 1x.
